Los Angeles Soccer Academy will improve the soccer skills, confidence and health of every player in a nurturing and safe environment. We will strive to reverse the trend of winning at all cost and focus on developing creativity, vision and character. Our USSF and NSCAA licensed coaches will challenge every player to reach their full potential, both on and off the field.
LASA has two programs, a club team program and an academy program. The club team program is for players ready to play in a competitive Cal South league against other competitive clubs in LA. Our academy program bridges the gap between AYSO and club soccer for players who are not quite ready for the club level. All academy players are welcome to try out for our club teams at any time during their training.
Our training combines the possession principles of Spain, the 4v4 foundations of Holland, the flair and creativity of Brazil, and the determination, hustle and pride of US soccer. In addition to developing individual skills, our USSF licensed coaches also teach principals of shape, teamwork, attack, vision, penetration, support, mobility, width, improvisation, pressure, cover, balance, delay, compactness, restraint and the counter-attack. At the end of every practice we incorporate match free-play to insure we allow the game to teach our players. All of our practices are founded on simple soccer, played smart.
LASA believes in technical development first. We encourage creativity and vision when faced with a challenge on the field. These are the years we want our children to play with confidence and control. We believe in nurturing the player that wants to dribble the ball and explore their options on the field. By developing individual skills first, the player becomes composed on the ball and is more open to team concepts when under pressure. By mastering their technical ability first, the player becomes well prepared for the competitive level.
All LASA teams and academy players train at Cheviot Hills Park in Rancho Park.
DSL is a 4v4 youth league for 4-7 year olds (co-ed), as played throughout Europe and Latin America to give every child an opportunity to truly develop their ability and play the game the way it was intended. There are only 6 players per team to insure quality playing time during games. Every player has a chance to develop their technical skills while playing in each of the four essential areas on the field [i.e. the diamond formation: forward, wings and back]. Our coaches focus on fun, teamwork, creativity, responsibility and confidence. All coaches are USSF and NSCAA licensed. Our seasons are 10-weeks long, with 3-week breaks between seasons.
